Dearborn Shank Conversion

Has anybody ever converted a 3pt Dearborn cultivator to a more rugged shank? I have broken 2 of my shanks on the cultivator now and want to find a renewable and more rugged option. I use this for foodplotting and only work a couple of acres a year. I was kind of thinking of finding an old out of service chisel plow.

Get what ferguson called a tiller but used a cultivator frame. It was made with the shanks to do the work that you are trying to do with a row crop cultivator. Ford-Dearborn also had their own version.

Yes that would work perfect but I doubt that I would have much luck finding the shank units. Like I said I want to use the existing frame but want to use a different shank that would be common and easily replaced.

Just buy the complete unit and lse it for first time over and follow up with what you have. No need for unbolting and rebolting a hundred bolts all the time.
