Decent muffler?

Need a new muffler for my 706 d with the 282.
Want something comparable to oem.
No noisy Stanley junk please!
Thanks!
Which muffler are you looking for? The standard round body or the big oval one?

Probably not the answer you are looking for, but I like a good, original take-off muffler. The ones that still have the IH logo & number on them. There are plenty out there if you look or ask.

Would like a round body like was on it originally with a baffled body so it’s QUIET!
The type I want used to be available most anywhere.
I detest the Stanley ones sold by tsc. I’m not sure the ones sold here are any different.

You might look at Steiners because they have stainless steel ones that are very quiet. I bought 2 or 3 from places like Tractor supply and such and all of them were LOUD!! This one is quiet on my 300 which was bellowing with the larger diameter ones having hardly any baffles. It is pricey but I bought mine as a defective one at half price. Not sure if they still have them.

I'm using a large oval muffler from a Toyota Sienna. It's very quiet and made of stainless steel. Best of all, free!

I had to put a new one on our 1466 last spring I believe I got it from Shoup with the price and having had to run it straight pipe just at the hood height any muffler was good. I think it was over 150.00 for that one. Found lots of 806,856 mufflers a lot cheaper but the pipe was a lot smaller too.

Shop somewhere else besides TSC, maybe? Try your CaseIH dealer.
How about going to an exhaust shop and requesting what you desire for inlet and out let and height of outlet pipe length. An extra quiet one that is elongated oval shaped [looks like a round body with "tapered" ends. Put one similar on our IHC Farmall BN. I can stand beside the running engine and carry on a standard conversation without yelling just a normal speech level / genital on the ears when running at idle or full throttle.

Because, it doesn't look like a tractor muffler. It looks like a car muffler someone stuffed on the tractor. Not to mention, muffler shops around here are, "Make, model and year please... What's a Farmall BM?" Computer won't let them just "look at mufflers."

Wish I could find the picture of my Super M with the muffler it had on it when I bought it. Classic "high flow turbo muffler" probably off an old GM pickup truck. Fell off the truck and got "recycled" on the tractor.

Farmall IHC B N.[ B Narrow] It actually looks like a tractor muffler in size and shape paint it high heat black and it certainly looks like it belongs to the tractor since many of the mufflers are now black instead of silver. Appologise for the side ways picture that is no how it is in the files.

Be careful if you use standard oval mufflers. They probably have a drain hole somewhere. If so, be sure it is at the bottom so rain water won't get in. I used a Chery Bomb glass pack on Dad's WD. It's solid metal but was a bit loud.
