Deck material in blocks.

Hey fellers. Any of you guys know if the later IH SWD-9,600,650 (or crawler equivalents) blocks had more material in the deck area to go along with the increased bore size? I've got a WD9 block that I want to make an engine for to make a pulling tractor but have nothing else to compare it to.
