Deere 115 Blade

Hi,

Been looking for a blade for long time now. I have an 8 foot generic that I have bent into a pretzel with the 4020. The 115 I am looking at has hydraulic control which is what I have been looking for but the guy I am interested in buying from cant tell me which way this blade pivots and where. This particular blade is 9 foot which I am a bit wary of because I blade in some tight spots. But I may not be able to pass it up.

Anyone able to tell me what pivot functions this thing has? I know it has 2 functions because there are two cylinders on it but one of the cylinders on this one swings the blade like a boom so that the blade can be offset behind the tractor which I like. What I don't know if the blade itself can then be hydraulic angled. Also looking for hydraulic control for the pitch of the plade so that I can crown a road or V in a ditch. The boom function I would do manually. Is this blade a 2 function or a 3 function? Thanks a bunch... I know that was a bit long winded.

John,

I have a JD 115 blade and it pivots in 3 places (mine are all manual). I think 2 of 3 can be converted to hyd. If you send me your email address, I can send you come photos of mine showing how it pivots.

As you said the one cylinder pivots the boom, but only from center to one side depending on which side you mount the cylinder. The other cylinder changes the blade pitch up and down. The blade angle is changed by hand.

The blade is rated for a 110 hp 2wd tractor if I remember the spec correctly.

Buy it !!!!

We have one and it is the perfect match for the 4020. 9' gets short fast when you angle them. Ours is manual. I think they were only 2 function hyd. pivot and the tilt of the blade. You can view how it is set up in the parts breakdown a jdparts.com

How much do they want for it ? You don't see many for sale. A few years back one brought about $1,000 at a local Ohio sale it was a very nice manual one.

Mike,

The guy wants 1850 for it. It does have two cylinders on it. He says they are in OK condition but that is in the eye of the beholder. There is also a 155 close to me for sale...that one is up for 2600. Two cylinders on that one also but don't know what the width is.
