few questions on my 1530
1 it has the independent pto lever between shifters i dont care for this as when i turn it on its been shearing bolts on equipment, is this normal, i cant find a way to ease it in
2 i was having someone mowing hay and since its been shearing they used the side lever to try and engage it, well now it wont go in to the forward engaged position if the independent is turned on it will grind and try to go in but if lever is off it wont go in and if tractor is off it wont, where should i start other than splitting it

If pto is engaged at idle speed(800 engine rpms) on IPTO shear bolt shouldn't shear. What type hay cutter??

The pto disconnect on IPTO tractors was designed to be engaged with engine off. Sounds as if a shift collar R&R is in order maybe even a pto input shaft which will require a trans disassembly.

cutter is NH 461 im gonna try and lower idle one i
get it fixed, can problem be determined by removing
seat and trans cover, im guessing i just cant slide
pto out back put new collar on and slide shaft in,
im ordering a repair manual today, gonna see if i
can lightly tap it into on position, what is the
purpose of the lever why would it need to be in off
position thanks in advance

Only reason I can think that IPTO has disconnect lever on LH side is cause the problems your operator found. I was taught to always have engine at idle when engaging pto. Don't hit disconnect lever very hard or you chance breaking pin(parts key #2) on inside of trans and I think you'll need a "pet snake" to R&R collar without removing trans gears.

i ordered the technical manual, what are the odds it
can be lightly tapped in, if it has to be taken
apart, does it require a split or just a trans cover
removal or do rears need to be taken out, how big of
a job is it, its my baling trailer so im up the
creek at this point thanks

ok ill give the light tapping a try today, and await
the manual if doenst go in, is the pulling of gears
pretty strait forward, ive split tractors before
over hauled new clutchs... but never the trans
