Going to rebuild the engine in my early
model 4230.Need info on the best kit to get

At one time I would have said use Reliance hi compression with a Deere head gasket. That is what we did on mine and very happy with it. There have been some bad stories lately about the quality at Reliance. There is a new parts company called Absolute Tractor Parts and several of my friends that run shops are now using them. I have one of their kits coming to do a 3020 this winter. Tom

I have used Absolute kits in 3 engines so far and they are good stuff.
