Okay I finally got the Museum pictures sized up, I will try to place the info of the tractors under each one,,I hope they work out half as good as the way Walt does them...

Thank you for sharing these photos, Tim. I had been wondering what the display of the Dain tractor was going to look like. I saw that tractor at the shop where it was restored for Deere, just a couple weeks before it was picked up. I think I even have a photo on my phone of that tractor sitting in the shop. Again, thank you for sharing, Tim. Loved all the photos!

Funny how they made no mention about how the guy who found the first Dain had to fight Deere to get them to ever acknowledge they had anything to do with it.
From all the litter pans under the tractors they should of opted for a dirt floor ! LOL.

Nice pix but I question the terminology in pic 2....Model B in 1951 when tractors were first replacing horses on American farms??? Much earlier than that.

That caught my too, but I think they are referring to the start of production of the model, not the individual tractor.

Thanks for posting the pics Tim. Hope I can visit the museum someday.
Couple comments on the '51 B. It should have clamshell fenders and the John Deere decals on the hood should be forward near the front of the hood I believe. It's a beautiful restoration but I'm surprised it was picked for a display.

I agree on the decal and such, but it's a nice restoration nonetheless. I'm actually surprised that they didn't find a great original to use for display.

Hey thanks for the pix. I would some day like to visit this museum. I am really interested in the 4020 with steel wheels. I have a few factory pix of JD tractors going down the assembly line getting built and going through the paint shop before the nice black and yellow rubber wheels get put on.
I have a factory set of steel wheels for a 3020 or 4020 that I plan on restoring with a tractor for show, not sure what year Im going to get that done, but its on my list.

Thanks for the photos. They get me excited for my visit to the museum over the Fourth of July holiday. The facility is open on July 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This museum is long overdue. John Deere has its Pavilion display in Moline, but that seems like a mostly corporate affair that features the company's new machinery. Good to see a nod to the company's roots.

I like the fact the museum is displaying privately owned tractors with their histories and anecdotes. I spoke to the museum curator by phone and he said the museum plans to switch out many of the tractors each year for new displays. That will give the place a freshness which encourages multiple visits by those of us enthusiasts.
