This has been discussed many times before - now its my turn to complain. I just picked up a $150 five gallon bucket of JD 15w-40 oil - and this was supposedly on sale? I'm starting to sound like my Dad complaining about everything being so expensive!! I see Theisens has a 5 gal bucket of Lucas 15w-40 for $80 or a 2 gal jug of Harvest King for $30. It might be time to tell mother Deere to stick it on their high oil prices!!

Where was this? I bought a few buckets earlier this year and it was around 100 dollars per 5 gallon pail. The small lawn and garden/home owner/weekend warrior dealerships most likely do not buy the volume necessary to compete with the ag dealer(s).

Yes, manufacturer branded oil from any dealer tends to be higher than average. Unless there is a warranty issue that absolutely forced you to buy it, you are the one who chose to buy it, why blame Mother Deere for your choice? You could have said No Thank You when you saw the price.

I set in the middle of Van Wall stores. They bought out a good local group a few years ago. The prices sure jumped and now I can't get a parts price/location online. I switched to AgriVision now I can get a price and location. AgriVision seems to have more 9400 combine parts on hand, 20 extra miles sure beats waiting a day.

The AGCO dealer would never even try to sell me AGCO oil. She always said ''Take the stuff in the white pail, it's the same thing but cheaper''.

I bought 4 gallons of 15-40 diesel oil today (two 2 gallon) at Farm and Home for $49.98 total. I got a 5 gallon pail of premium Hy Tran for $57.99.
