define tier gasoline

When in the road all over the USA I buy gas at all sorts of locations, truck stops, walmarts, buccees, Krogers, locals etc I NEVER SEE SIGNS OR INFO ON THE PUMPS as to what tier?????? Never had any trouble !!!

ould this be related to the known problem of build up on the intake valves of direct injection engines? I have read about the problem on several brands, such as GM, BMW, Audi & others and have read that some makers solve the problem by using both direct and manifold injection on same engine , so as to allow the manifold injection to keep the valves washed. Some of you Google guys, ...get after it.

If the additional additives did anything to clean the exhaust or reduce contaminants being exhausted, the EPA would mandate those additives for all gasoline.

And as long as those additives do not contaminate the exhaust they are allowed by the EPA.

And as John in LA says, all gasoline comes from regional terminals and sold to all stations in that region. Which means the base fuel is the same as far as being clean and contaminants.

Does it do what Top Tier claims? Probably but it will not make the exhaust cleaner in any way.

"Grade" is different from "Tier." Any grade of gasoline can be "Top Tier."

Your gasoline is either "Top Tier" or it's not. There is no "Mid Tier" and "Low Tier" gasoline. That's because "Top Tier" is BRANDING, not a rating.

What makes gasoline "Top Tier" has been linked to and explained to death above.

You are supposed to ONLY use electricity generated with hydro, wind or solar in your electric car. If you use any other, your warranty can be invalid!!! Any other type is incompatable. Pushing electons that have been excited by any type of fossil fuel into your batteries can ruin them and they will not last as long.
