degreaseing engine

Instead of useing solvents , gunk ,break cleaner and a lot of elbow grease then a steam cleaner ,Which I have done all of them and hours doing so.I think I came up with a better way
First cover all electric that could be damaged with plastic bags taped in place starter , alternator then spray with EZOFF oven cleaner wait 20 minutes and wash with garden hose ,IT WORKS FOR ME

Floridaboy, I too need to clean my engine in my 1810. When I was a kid i saw my dad spray an auto engine with kerosene and then water hose the tar out it. Could such be done with a diesel?

Of course it can thats wy I posted it Diesels are the most greasy ,dirty ,grimy of all engines
