What do you guys use for degreaser to prep for paint ? Then what after degreasing ? Since the 4020 Is in the shop I?ve decided to repaint a fair bit of it

Dollar store oven cleaner, or any product with potassium hydroxide. flashy name or color don't help.

Simple green or zep here + hot water and time.

Just make sure you do it a few times...then once you think you are done do it again. It will pay off when it is time for final prep before paint.

for me its a LONG scalding hot pressure washing with a 15 degree nozzle, followed by foam lancing dish detergent, hot water wash again.

Anything that remains I hit with brake cleaner, small wire brushes and rags.

I've also wanted to try out mixing up a mild hot water and lye solution. Obviously proper protective equipment becomes essential, but I think that would degrease really well!

Thanks for the replies guys I think one more trip to the pressure washer then some hand cleaning and paint thinner and we?ll shoot some paint
