I recently inherited an older floor model 14-207 Delta drill press that has a slight wobble. The run-out was .006 with the dial indicator. The play can be felt when the chuck is held. (the chuck is tight) The number on the bearing is "New Departure 8810" My normal internet search comes up empty. Has any one here rebuilt one of these? I'm sure they made thousands and if it ran true, it would be a great addition to my shop. Any help would be appreciated. Bruce

Timken 88107. I searched new departure cross reference to find the new number.

Recently picked up a Delta, though much newer than yours, maybe 40 years old, and changed the bearings in the quill. Not hard to do and the bearings, in this case at least, were ones my father had. Same ones used on fractional hp electric motors. No more slop at the end of the stroke. Runs quieter too. A trip, with the originals to your friendly neighbourhood bearing shop should fix you up.
