Devilbiss air compressor

Looking for a parts break down of a Devilbiss 330 model air compressor. Or can somebody tell me if I need to totally dismantle the pump to get the main bearing on the pulley side out. Not having much luck with finding parts listing for it online and didn't want to start on it till I had a better idea of what needed to come apart on it for a main bearing. The bearing is loose from wear or is loose in the casting not for sure which yet.

A quick internet search showed a good parts breakdown. The site that linked the parts breakdown said that the pump and parts are no longer available. The breakdown suggests that you would just need to take the screws out of the endplate to get access to the roller bearing (part # 225-23). It looks like you might also need a washer and/or a gasket.

My internet search found a link to a YouTube video of a 1952 model 330 and a picture of a 1942 model 330. They must have been around for quite some time.

Thanks Tom that looks like what I was looking for and it looks like the bearing comes off with the end cap behind the pulley so should be a pretty easy fix. And Famous last words right?

If you need and parts, Devilbiss is owned by Devair, Inc in Canada. Their Toll free# USA 1-800 552-7954.
They parts for some of the older compressors. Last I checked was 5/2020 and still had parts for my old 432

Would highly suggest using a micrometer for bore holes to make sure that the case is not egged out (oval shaped) from wear. Be a waste of time trying to get new bearings to work if the case is worn.

thanks guys. I'm suspecting some problem.I could wiggle the shaft up and down a while back when I had to fix the starter switch that was not working. One contact was not catching the spring right so would not make contact to start the motor. While I had the belts off I just checked to see if things were ok when I noticed the pulley would move up and down. I figure the bearing or the housing is the issue. Since I don't now where dad got the compressor from I thought I would like to know a bit of what I was getting into. Didn't want to have to press the crank apart or some other thing. A parts break down like TomIn posted, was what I needed. The bearing if that is bad I figure is just a generic ball bearing. Mulemeat I was going to check for out of round before putting a bearing in there. I was going to replace the seal also which may or may not be a generic item to replace. Thanks again guys.
