Dewalt cordless set

Looking to buy a set of dewalt cordless tools , looking for someone that has had both the 18 volt and the 20 volt set, is there much difference? I want to run skillsaw and all the other tools

I do not have any experience with the 20 volt set. But I have ran 18 volt for years, to the point I have worn out 2 drill/drivers. I just purchased a new 18 volt.

I have several drills, hammerdrill, screwdriver, all work get, not much difference. I did buy a 4 1/2 inch circular saw, no power, will only cut the thinest of material. Eats batteries in about 5 minutes. Bought an angle grinder, 18V same deal. I returned it as Dewalt has a 90 day no questions asked return policy. I like their stuff, just that the high power demand tools can't handle the load.

have run DeWalt cordless since 1996
12v, 14.4v, 18v Ni-Cad, NiMh, Li-On
have not run the 20 v
IF starting out fresh would buy 20v Li-On only
plenty of power and most importantly the batteries are protected from being abused by running low voltage

I would stay with what I have 18v, because I have all the cordless tools out there including the caulking gun. I don't think the grease gun is in the 20v, but is in the 18. Grease gun is on order, waiting for Santa.

If you want the circular saw, get the narrow dewalt blade. It takes less power to operate.

Good nimh batteries are $40 buy it now free shipping ebay.

I like my 18 volt set just fine. Lowes has a 4 piece set with two batteries for $215 on sale.

I was at Lowes today. They only had one 4 pk of 18v dewalt tools. Everything else in the store was 20v. Is it possible that dewalt is phasing out the 18V line? However dewalt is coming out with the 18v grease gun soon.
