Have a dcf889?? 1/2 inch 20 volt impact seems lacking in power. dismantled and checked. brushes nice armature nice. ohm the armature no issue that way. impact hammers look nice and no broken worn parts?
tested at the brushes running with a 3-2 bar level battery 18+ volts. tightened a bolt and checked with torque wrench. turned further at about 120 lbs/ft. torqued to 140 and impact wrench loosened it. 1/2 bolt
and nut. I think I got model # right?? DCF886??

Not sure what this post is suppose to be about.

The DeWalt DCF 889 is an old 1/2" impact wrench. The DCF 899 is a newer version and has a lot more breakaway and torque for tightening.

The DCF 886 is a 1/4" impact and not even comparable to the larger ones.

Battery size has a huge part in how much torque a Dewalt impact will make.
I have an 889, it is a dog, but adequate to change tires and similar work so long as you have a 4ah or larger battery in it.

The newer 921? Dewalt atomic compact will absolutely outperform it in every way.
