dewalt pressure washer - no pressure ?

I've got a 3000psi Dewalt Pressure Washer...about 4 hours on it. Yesterday it was working fine then the next time I started it water would just dribble out... engine running fine no struggling.. so I assume pump is turning. When you first pull trigger you get about a 1 second burst of high pressure water then back to dribble... no obstructions I can find in hoses or gun and water supply is sufficient..

any suggestions

thanks
John

Sounds like air in the system. Hold the gun with trigger squeezed while having incoming line open. You should get water running through the pressure washer driving all the air out. Sounds like it got vapor locked. It could also be you got sand or something in the screen or filter which is slowing down the incoming water.

A plugged orfice on the nozzle will give you similar symptoms. The pump will come up to pressure, then the pressure relief will dump due to the blockage and drop all pressure off the system.

Usually it'll "pulse" if the orfice is blocked, a second or two of full pressure, relief opens, pressure drops, relief closes, etc. etc.

unloader valve could be stuck open ,or the pump pistons could be damaged from running dry and may need to be replaced .
