well i was asking the wrong question anyway, let me try again,,, is there a hi and lo trans. that will go into an 801. I was aking for a friend and got it wrong to start with, thanks

Yes there is a hi/lo tranny that will fit into an 801. A very popular optional tranny called a Sherman. There were a few different types - overdrive, underdrive, reversing and most popular the Combination which gave you over/direct/under drives. It was a pre transmission meaning it installed in front of the standard tranny.
But aside from all that, maybe tell us what your friend is trying to accomplsh. Perhaps we could help you/him better that way.

I just got a 1962 Fordson Dexta that was going to the scrap pile. It has a 3 cylinder desil engine and a high-low transmission. Haven't looked at it much but the rear tires and rims look like the same as on my 850. I was going to ask the same question this morning about any of the parts being interchangable with my 850 or my 8n. Guess if they won't I have another project after I finish restoring the 1950 8n.
