Did I create a major problem? #2

Yesterday I asked for help with a problem I had with the clutch on my Deutz D6207. I appreciated the replies I received but feel I did not state the problem clearly enough. In the process of rewiring the wires which were burnt I had to remove the shield that held the clutch lever which is used to engage and disengage the pto. The problem now is the lever is loose and will not engage the pto. I am afraid when I removed the shield and lever it might have caused something to disengage, such as a clutch inside the housing. The wiring is not involved. I am concerned I might have to split the tractor. If you are a Deutz owner or know of someone who might help me, I would appreciate it. Thanks!!!

I would remove the shield again and look to see what the lever is doing now, and try to figure out what it should be doing.

Does the lever push or pull on a rod, or a cable in a sleeve? Or is it clamped to a shaft that goes directly inside the tractor?

Did you get everything tight, did you align the lever properly, was the pto on or off when you took it apart and did you place the lever in the on or off position when you reassembled it?

With that being a rather uncommon tractor, not many of us know what you are dealing with, or what exactly you took off. Some pictures might help.

Good luck!
