Diesel replacement

I broke the motor in my 841D. I have an engine (diesel)from an 800. Will it fit? I know the displacement is smaller 134 vs 172 cu.in.

Unless I have missed something the 800 and 801 series tractor both used a 172 engine in them. At least they did with the gas ones so I would think the diesels would also be the same but yes it should fit right in with no problem. You may end up with a smaller clutch disk but that would be about it. Also the clutch splines on the 2 clutch maybe different ran into that when I replaced the Sherman combo in my 841

The xx0 series (like 800...) never came with a diesel, so you got something screwy right there.

As the other guys said.. you got a few issues here.

1, the diesels didn't come out till the 01 series.. so if you have a diesel from an 800.. then it likely was swapped in from an 801 previously.

The 8xx and 9xx tractors used 172 ci gas or diesel.( for the 01 series )

the 600 used a 134 gas.. and the 601 used 134 gas or 144 diesel. ( was propane models too.. etc. )

Suprisignly.. any of the 134/144/172.. and probably the 192 ci engines should all bolt up with out much hassle .. You will likely have some flywheel swappin to do depending on the trans.. etc..
