Hello Claude,
There are two possibilities; Normally the pedals seize through lack of use. Give the area around the pedal a good soaking in a penetrating oil such as WD40. ( Don't know if it's available in the States). Tie a piece of rope around the pedal that will comfortably reach your hand when sitting in the seat. I'm assuming that the pedal is stuck in the 'down' position. Try and lift the pedal with your hand. Then push down with your heel. You will need to be VERY patient. It could take a long time. If you can get some movement on the pedal then you have cracked it! Just keep going until you get full free movement. Alternatively you will have to remove the axle housing and carry out the necessary stripping to determine where the seizure is and rectify it.

They Diff. Lock PEDAL on my Massey has a habit of sticking down...ENGAUGED.As per the original Manual, I place the Tractor in reverse back up applying one of the brake pedals. The lock then disengages.

Your first task is to determine where it is stuck. Either the pedal assembly or the plunger is stuck. Remove the pedal from axle housing, 4 bolts. No oil will leak out as this model has dry brakes. Put pedal housing in vise and try movement. Be very careful if pedal is stuck in housing as the bushing for the shaft inside housing is no longer available! Soak it with penetrating oil and use adj. wrench on flats of shaft back and forth. There is a dogpoint set screw and jam nut on slide shifter loosen and remove set screw. this will allow the removal of shaft from housing to "shine up" shaft. If pedal moves then the plunger is stuck in the axle hsg. itself and removal of axle is necessary. Big job for someone without knowledge and/or equipment to perform
