Difference between 20 and 30??

I have an old Ferguson I am wanting to sell. I was told its either a to20 or 30. How do I know what I have? I am trying to determine how much to sell it for? It does run, I also have a Deere 408 brush hog. Tractor was used last Summer so it still runs. Thanks

A TO 30 will have the oil filter on the right lower rear of the engine along with a air intake on the dash on the right side. The TO 20 oil filter is inside the oil pan and no air intake on the dash.

You say it ran last summer, it should still run now, but until you try it you don't know. I like to say most all of these tractors TE/TO Fergusons "should" be worth $2000-$2500. Then I will subtract for tires if need to be replaced, subtract if sheet metal has holes in hood or fenders damaged etc. If it does not run maybe $500. So it is really in your best interest to make sure it runs and starts right up w/o cranking very long.

Looks like a 20. Tires look good (rear are mismatched but good tread) and sheet metal looks good from what I could see (couldn't see grille). Is it a 5 ft. bush hog? If so, they are often worth 200-400, depending on condition. If tractor starts easily, steers ok, has brakes, and hydraulics work good, it might bring as much as 2,000, depending on your location. You could start a little over 2,000 and maybe get that for both together. These tractors don't seem to sell quite as well as they did 10 yrs ago. Ones with live hydraulics like the TO-35 or Ford NAA still sell very well, but the 20 and 30 and older Fords don't seem to bring quite as much as they once did in my experience. Where are you?

Billy, do you have the pieces that are suppose to be there in place of the chains on the rear end? If not those are a little costly to replace. I will agree with Phil that is a TO 20. Looks like good tread on rear tires.

Whatever is there is what I have..the tractor was in the barn when we bought the place. I am in upstate NY.

The Z120 engine on the TO-20 has an internal oil filter and the Z129 engine on the TO-30 has an external oil filter on the right hand side. The air intake on the TO-30 is in the right side of the dashboard and the TO-20 get"s it"s air from the top of the aircleaner under the hood. If you have the serial number plate on the dash above the steering wheel, TO 00001 - TO 60000 are the seril numbers of the TO-20"s and TO 60001 through T) 140000 are the serial numbers for the TO-30"s.
If by chance you have a Standard engine on your tractor, you have a TEA-20.

TO20. Had a Front End Loader on it at some time? Could do with a new steering wheel and steering box seals.

I'm curious - what is that which looks like a shock absorber behind the driver's seat? Is it some type of seat damper?
