Differences between a D239 and a D206

Can anyone cite the major differences in the internals between the two? Other than the crank and rods, are they not basically the same engine? I can't help but think the block, sleeves, etc would be the same. I don't have any actual parts books for refer to, and the CNH website is nearly worthless any more since they deleted all the old part numbers. At least for stuff like this.

I'm currently looking to save a 584(D 206) that has a rod/crank/hole in the block type problem. I suspect that a D 239 would be pretty much a straight bolt in swap, but I'm not sure.

Still considering options at this point, and it would helpful to know how much of the two engines would interchange.

It looks like it is possible that the two engines share the
same block. Someone on here lead me to this and it
works pretty good, I am talking about using
avspare.com to look up IH part numbers. Just web
search using avspare followed by the tractor model.
As an example type ... avspare IH 584 ...and you will
get results for 584 parts diagrams, open one of those
and you will see a list in blue print. If you click the
tractor description ..number 4 in this case.. it will bring
up the parts subsection just like the IH parts diagrams
and it shows ALL the parts numbers. The page in the link is from when I clicked the block part number in the D239 diagram. Had to go to the engine parts list because it is not shown in the 544 tractor section. From what I found the 3144742R94 block for the D206 is possibly shared with the D239. I’ll let you hash it out from there. Personally never been around the IH utilities much. The only thing bad about avspare is you have to wade through some adds.
D239 block

Thanks. I wasn't aware of that site. It takes a bit to navigate the format and get past the ads, but it does get you there. At least it still has the old part numbers. After looking through both the 206 and 239 lists, it seems the block and sleeve numbers are different.
