Differences in models

Here's a question that will probably sound dumb, but is there a possibility of variations in tractor configurations in the same year of manufacture? I'm referring to different placements of components such as the hydraulic pump, battery box, type of starter switch, etc. The tractor in question is a Farmall 1953 Super M. I was wondering if there could be some differences related to the month of manufacture -- such as a late year variation in some cars. At different tractor shows I have seen a lot of variation and would like to have some information on this.

In 1953 the stage two came out. It is quite different than the stage 1. Stage 1 had the belly pump, the old front bolster and and the battery under the fuel tank. The Stage 2 had live engine mounted hydraulic pump, and the newer front bolster as well as the battery under the seat.

Thanks for the comeback. My 53 SM has the pump on the right side of the frame and the battery under the gas tank.
