Dimensions on Cub step?

I'm old and need to build a step to help me climb up onto my Cub. I'm looking at the kind that hangs on the brake shaft, with half-circle hooks at the top and an L shape for the step at the bottom. Does anyone have the dimension for the big almost half-circle hooks at the top? I need inside and/or outside diameter of the half-circle. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Get your ID by measuring the OD of the part it hangs on (the brake shaft support that is welded to the platform).

I may have to do that. The Cub isn't where can get at it right now, and I hoped to build the step before I got it back. But it can wait until I can do some hands-on measuring. Not an urgent task. Thanks again.

I built my step that is attached to a couple of the draw bar holes in the rear wheel gear reduction, and extends forward with a piece of 1-1/2" square tube, with a step made out of diamond deck plate ahead of the tire. Those steps you describe kinda force you to step over the brake pedals, which could lead to a tripping hazzard. I don't have any pictures, but you can find some examples searching the internet.

I think I've seen pictures of what you describe. That design looks a lot easier to build than the hanging one with curves. Thanks for reminding me there's more than one way to build a step.
