Disc for my 2N tractor

HI,
I have a recently overhauled Ford 2N tractor.I would like to know what disc harrow would be considered the the best brand, size and type for my tractor. I hope that after my sweetcorn crop comes off this year to disc and sow oats. Allow oats to winterkill, then in the spring, disc in the oat residue and replant more sweetcorn. I would appreciate both your suggestions on the disc and cultural practice that I intent to use.

A 3point disk,6ft wide will be perfect,Any brand will do. buy a new one,not an old worn out piece of junk.I think moldboard plowing would the best method of trash burial. disking alone will not bury trash and can cause compaction.

5 or 6 foot depending on how heavy it is. If you get one that is over 800lbs you will have problems with steering because that is about when the front end comes up off the ground. Oh and be sure to buy a heavy built one not one of those light ones you see at places like TSC because the light ones do not hold up well

My uncle had a 8N tractor that he used a 6 ft pull behind disc - there are clubs that restore 2Ns, you could check the Ford Forum here for a second opinon.

The 8N, 9N and 600 Ford tractors I have seen around here use a Ferguson mouldboard plow with two shares - you could ask as well if that would work as well on your 2N.
