Disc Harrow Identifcation

Evening,

I was wondering if anyone could identify this unit:

I'm looking for a wheel disc to work some food plots.

It looks like someone modified the axle pivot on this one, but otherwise it looks to be in OK shape.

Thanks

Thanks guys.

I never would have guessed Allis, the orange paint should have given it away, but we just don't have much Allis stuff around here.

Doing a little googling and it sounds like the 2300 is on the lighter side, but I'm not looking to cover tons of acres, just trying to save my tiller in our ledgy ground. I have a few neighbors who hire me to turn over their food plots. Seems like buying beef would be cheaper but that's their business, not mine!

A bit off-topic, but there's also a JD RW for sale close by. How would the two compare? I'm guessing the Allis might have the edge due to its adjustable gang angle?

JD generally has good stuff, but their disks are maybe historically their worst product line. They get the job done but
other makes of like eras tend to be better. I would often consider a different brand over a JD when it comes to disks.

For what my opinion is worth.

I have had both adjustable and non adjustable gang disks and adjustable are
nay and night better. Would never have boughten a JD Disk with non
adjustable angle.

I am just curious, which one had pueter standards, the one we had would snap the standards, bet there hard to get and impossible to weld, held up there with a snap ring !!

You folks pretty much reaffirmed what I already thought.

Sounds like at AC disc is a much better bet.

Thanks,

K
