Disc Harrow

I found a Disc/Harrow in woods what to do first. Pull type no hydraulic about 2 miles from me no idea on mfg. I think can pull it out with 1954 ford.i would be great full for any I put. No loader tractor thank U. I got some pic on my phone

Pull it to where you can get your trailer backed up to it, so that the the truck-trailer is jackknifed, then bring the tractor around to the front of the trailer, attach chain, and pull it up the ramps onto the trailer.

If you can adjust angle of disc, like the old drag disc we had, take the angle out and just pull home the 2 miles with the tractor. Go slow and wear ear plugs. Did that lots of times with a 2 row cultipacker on back of disc going farm to farm. All that is providing the bearings are up to it.

Pictures go a long ways to identify equipment even on some a model that way. as said if you can let the gangs go straight then just pull it slow home like under 5MPH or so. Over that will pound the discs apart.

We used to pull our Disk Harrows and drag Harrows before the first wheeled disk harrow.. When we went from home to the 80acres the next section over we always pulled them and most of the time in the grass ditch where you could. There were no highways involved and on coming traffic was used to slow moving farm traffic???

I got disc to the farm# 598 & #595 stamp on disc.
Not to bad of shape?
Will send pic when I get more Data on phone.
I can only texts pic now. 22 / April should have Data.

Dad used to move the wheel less disk to the other farm pull a hayrack across in front of it, put two home sawn planks - maybe probsbly was 4 planks - angled up tot he side of the hayrack and use a chain or cable to the tractor on the other side of the hayrack, pull it up. Have a fence post on the hayrack to catch the disk, you don’t want to pull it off the tractor side by accident.

If you live on gravel roads I would consider the towing it home carefully on the road. I would not do that on a tar road like we live on.

I think it's A Case with telescoping tongue ? Where do I find the Eagle? 598 is the number I see most, still scratching for more. About 1950 Mfg?
