Disc or Spring tooth

I have a TO30 that I use a spring tooth for a couple of fields just for the weeds that come up. I was curious if this disc harrow would work also with my TO30 or is it to heavy? I don't want to over work my tractor.

It should handle a 6 foot disk. I have used a 6 foot disk on an 8N with no problems other then I had to remove some of the weights I had on it because the front end wanted to come up but I also had been using it with my Ford 841S that has a loader so it could lift it. I had at least 300lbs or more of weights on it.

It is an offset disk for heavy deep tillage use instead of a plow. Deffinatly not a finnishing disk.

That's what it looked like to me too. My understanding is that they are a real pull compared to a standard disc harrow. I was told 10 hp per foot was the minimum and 15 was better if you really want to get any work done.

On fairly solid ground just chopping up weeds I'd say you'd probably be able to pull it,on the other hand if the ground were worked pretty good and the disk was going in
up to the axle you'd be dead in the water.I'd love to have a 3pt offset like that for deer plots don't see many in my area in VA.Where are you located?

I'm out in California, our family still has what was my Great Grandparents home that is on about a 3 acre lot. From what I know it used to be a dairy farm. We also have a TO35, and two Cat D4's. My Grandfather used to disc empty fields around locally on the weekends and after he retired.

Take a look at the pic. Its an OFFSET DISC, NOT a standard disc. Tie a 8N Ferd to this disc and it wont go anywhere

Ten to 15 horsepower on a big modern offset disc is
probably about right . With new blades and cutting
to the spools
