distributor problems

I am looking at a 9n that the cam is worn down and the po have it removed and tried to get a new distributor and says he cannot.

Are they that hard to find and are they expensive?

it is the front mount distributor.

are there electronic ignition options for these little tractors?

It probably doesn't need a new distributor, but it might need a new mechanic.

You can get new distributors from this site or nnalert's.

Replace the AT in the address w/ @

Chances are you can rebuild it. Bushings & advance weights are also available.

You will find a set of quality points to be a lot cheaper than EI. And if the tractor is 6v, EI will just be another problem, not a solution.

If you like the option of set it and forget it EI is the way to go. For what a good set of points costs these days the EI will pay for itself in a few years.
