Hi.Cockshutt 540 ser# AN7297.
I loosen the screw on distributor arm assembly plate and made sure it wasn't stuck.The distributor won't rotate by hand is it normal?Ty.

There is a gasket between the block and the distributor. You may have to loosen the distributor by small rap with a punch and hammer on the distributor/block parting line. This joint may be painted over hard to see. You may have to separate using a small screw driver forced into the joint.
