Ditch Witch C99

I bought a ditch witch the other day and I'm close to getting it running (It had been setting for 4+ years but covered). It has a Wisconsin AENLD engine. I had a weak spark so I took the points and condenser out today to inspect them. The points need to be filed and the connections were corroded. I'll clean them up, reinstall and try again. If this doesn't work anything else to check before replacing them?

Thanks,

Scott

DON'T aggravate yourself by "filing" the points. That is a short-term solution, at best.

If the points have an oily film or are oxidized, you can clean 'em up with electrical contact cleaner and burnish 'em by drawing some clean white cardstock though 'em a few times.

If they are pitted or burned, don't even waste your time filing 'em 'cause after a few starts you will be doing it again and again, and AGAIN.

I have 3-400' of trench to dig and I'm allergic to shovel handles. I found this for $300 and decided it was worth the aggravation to get it running. I can sell it when I'm done.

If you want to sell it, let me know. I have one with a good working engine. My gear selector is missing a couple parts.
