Does anyone know what this thing is?

At the local scrapyard a couple days ago and saw this old steel wheeled implement. It has a hopper and some flexible tubes, with some sort of a ground driven pump, and even has "wings" for wider application of whatever it does. Maybe for application of powder insecticides or lime / gypsum? They must have thought it was interesting enough to hold onto for a while, because they set it off to the side instead of tossing on top of the tin pile. Aside from the tubes being rusty, it seems to be in pretty good shape, could almost read the decal on the back of the hopper.

That's what it is exactly... a row-crop dust machine. The pump is actually a blower once the powder is dribbled out of the hopper into the air intake.

It would lay a band treatment down over the rows as you went. I was going to say an insecticide applicator or something like that for dusting crops like maters or other vegetables or corn. Looks like it might have been a Gandy unit.

That is a Farquhar Iron Age logo on the dust box.
