Does Anyone Know

As discussed in another topic I am wondering if anyone knows the production dates of the 57 600. When did they stop the production of the 600 and changed the sheet metal to the 900. The switch was some time in the 1957 production year.
Thanks

While I am not sure of the answer I can tell you when my 600 was built. According to the build sheet I got from Case #8105112 was built May 23 1957. It was shipped May 27 1957 to Eagle Farm Equipment in Yorkton Sask. Canada. A long ways from its current home in Indiana.

Mole,
Thanks for the reply. I did see your post on the other discussion. Thanks for posting your serial number. I at one time owned 2 600's and serial number on mine were 8102792 and the one I still have is 8100644. Now if Case continued the serial number sequence on to the 900 we may have narrowed the switch. The serial numbers on my 900's are 8107437 and 8108089.

Looking thru my serial number book the only tractors I show using the 8100001 serial number are the 400 row crow, 600, and 900. Think I may search for some more serial numbers and see if there is a break from 600- 900.

I went over to tractor registry and the highest 600 serial listed there was 8105303 I think. Was unable to find a 57 900 lower than what I have. Hope some may have a answer on this. Curiosity killed the cat as the saying goes.

I don't remember where I read it or when. In a book or Old Abe's News or what but a number stands out in my head. I seem to remember that the 600 was supposedly only built 8 or 9 months. With the Case year beginning in late 56 that would put the changeover in June or July. I also remember that there were only 900 model 900's built in 57. For 58 they changed the injection pump and few other things and they became the 900B from then on. Just more to think about.

I remember reading in one of my books that the 58 900B was suppose to have gotten a new pump but according to parts books they didn't switch to the new pump till after serial number 814xxxxx which makes it a 59. I have yet to see a 58 with the new pump. I have some emails out and if I find out a date or serial number break I'll post it.
