Was Schmidt & Sons of Hope Kansas a Case dealer? I found the name on a Case 930 on Big Iron selling this week.

If I recall correctly, they were a Massey dealer. I drove past the place twice a week from October 1976 through November 1977 when I was a frozen food delivery man.

Ok I saw this on a tractor and thought I would ask. It did not have any reference to any brand and could have deen a car lot. Anyway it is now in Gibbon Ne. If only it could talk and tell it's story.

Not too far from Clay City there was a Case dealer at St Marie Ill. It was called Kocher Implement. closed in the 70 s after case quit making combines. There was a dealer in Windsor Il called Davis Implement they closed in the late 70s. There was also a Case dealer on Ill 32&33 at Effingham Il called A & F implement. In the fifties the Case dealer in Stewardson Ill was Schultz Chevrolet. There were lots more dealers in our area, but this is all I can recall now. We had the biggest infestation of 660 combines I think in the country

It has not been started in over 10 years now, needs starter rebuilt, and the engine is a bit tired but I used to use it all the time,, it could be bought though

Case stopped building combines in at the end of 1970,, they sold the last one in 1974 as they had a lot of unsold ones in stock,,

Thank you for the info! If you remember any others please post them to add to the list. You mentioned Case combines. Dropping combines was very hard on certain dealers who sold a lot of them. Many of those dealers added MF or White or NH to get a combine line. Others simply closed down. Thanks again, Don

The only Case dealer I have for Hope, KS is Ralph Hoffman Chevrolet. There probably was someone else after this car dealership, but I have no info to back that guess up. Maybe someone else on this Forum knows. Thanks for posting. Don
