Done with John Deere

I think we are almost done with working on the John Deeres for the season. The 4020 tractor and 7000 planter are ready.

I will add live hydraulics to the farmall H next, then get my Massey Harris 44 back together. I have had the 44 apart for four years. I am excited to get it finished.

I've said that a few times myself.
But darned if I ain't workin' on one again first thing Monday morning :)

I don't know about you. . . But when I started down this road as a kid, I figured I would be rich by now.

As least we still have our good looks ;)

Like my old friend said once,,"He started out with nothing, and still had most of it left" I started working at a dealership in 1974,been on my own since the 80's, I still like to fix them, even though some of them still make me scratch my head a bit...

Not a chance unless the bales come out of an old AC round baler.Look for something bigger . 1010 Special ranks right down there with a 2010 Diesel in my book.
Well maybe just a little above a 2010D.

I hope to be done with JD someday.... The B is in a zillion pieces... The cam will go out for regrind tomorrow and that should be the last machining on the engine.. Then the reassembly begins... Gonna be a chore for me... The project was started by my son, but he died... Going to have to make a lot of phone calls for advice before it runs again...

In the meantime I have taken the Oliver 1600 all apart... The engine is back together and running much better... Hopefully the steering box will come back before the week is out and we can finish putting that back in... Only dust seals for the wheel hubs remain to be found, so once the parts are in hand a good 8 hour day should finish it off - or at my age wimpy 4 hour days for a week...
Then the Farmall MD has a broken pressure plate and has to be split... Retirement is not all it is cracked up to be... It was easier when I got up and went to work in a clean office...
