Does anyone have any personal experience with this machine? Always heard about DR equipment, but never owned any. Plan on running one behind my Ford 651. I have about a million small 1" - 2" trees to cut and get rid of.

I would rather have hydraulic feed instead of that. I have a Woodland mills wc88 and that works well. I had a home depot one that was the same size and fought with it all the way and it was slow chipping

Had a pto chipper that had the hydraulic drive drum feed. 6" x 8" capacity. Ran it on my 1957 JD 420 and at 540 pto speed it would stall out the tractor if you did not catch the safety bar soon enough.
Two men feeding the chipper your small stuff would not slow it down.
Depending on what is being chipped, stuff shoved into the chute might flop around and whip you silly.
Running wet green long stuff like green palm fronds was tempermental as it would clog the chute and/or flywheel.

I kept it for three years and sold it because it was easier to just collect and move brush to a burn pile.

My advice is to see if you can rent one locally for a day before buying one similar.

Used a DR pto model years ago for one afternoon.

The machine worked great, good workmanship, did what it said it would.

We have hardwoods here, and trying to stuff those wide branchy branches down that throat by hand was miserable. Had to have a chainsaw idling beside us to cut up the branches quite small to feed anything in.

After 2 hours I piled the remaining branches and used the forks on the tractor to move them into a ravine. Took much less time.

I understand if you want to really accomplish something you want hyd feed rollers that will pull things into the machine. Trying to stuff things in a narrow throat is a whole lot of manual work.

That was my experience.

I helped a friend a few yerars ago who was clearing a house lot. I kept trying to get him to burn the brush, but he bought a little chipper. I found it very frustrating that it had no auto-feed. You had to take trimmers and trim it down to a half inch to get it to go in. I would not bother with one that didn't have auto feed.

Around here it is a pain to get a burn permit. When it's dry like it is now I wouldn't dare try to burn. If you don't get a permit the fire dept will be here in short order. Most of what I would need to chip is small pines youpons and tiny oaks. Nothing larger than about 3 1/2 inches. Just alot of them. I hate to pile them up and rot making a great place for snakes. I have enough rattlers already.

I would rent one before buying I think you will change your mind on what you want after trying to push brush into a hand feed not to mention the possibility of losing a hand or arm to it. I would rent one or get them all cut and piled then hire someone with a chipper to come in and run the pile out. You could move the pile just prior to chipping to get the most of the sanke problem out of it. A small fire or other snake distracting method would keep the rest of them out.
