Draft link plunger oil seal question.

Good Evening Everyone,
I have an International 364 tractor. After repairing an injector issue on the tractor with the forms help, I figure I’ll fix the leaking seal on my draft link plunger. Looking at an exploded parts diagram it appears there is an external seal that is a “dust seal” and a rubber o-ring that’s internal. Am I correct that I would have to remove the drivers seat, and would I be able to disconnect the draft link plunger rod assembly from the external control lever from the access panel underneath the drivers seat to get to this gasket, or do I have to remove the whole housing from the axle and access this seal from the access plate underneath. Or is everything external behind the dust seal. I’ve attached a diagram and the seal is number 42, external dust cap/seal is 41.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

I think the top cover has to come off to work on replacing the o ring. A service manual of an IT manual is going to be smarter that I am. Help in an International forum will have guys familiar with this tractor model. You are starting off correctly by doing research before diving into this repair.
JdayF, good luck on this project.

I used to have a 3414, industrial version of 404/424. It had what was called a Walker Y-clip. All plastic and snapped in from the outside. The outer edge engaged a groove in the housing bore. Looking closer, that seems to be different. Either way it looks like it's put in from the outside.

Thank You for your reply. I think I will post this in the International form, just for advice or things to watch out for or issues someone has ran into. I do have a service manual. I was just flipping through it and found the section on disassembling the draft control. The plunger it says to remove the housing from the axle, invert and access the draft link plunger from the access panel underneath, pull a cotter pin and you can remove the plunger, then for reassembly install new o ring on plunger then reinstall in housing. Then resemble etc. Looks more disassembly than I thought. But also a good time for inspection, changing hydraulic fluid, filter, etc.
