drain water

I keep my D and AR in the shop and it was a pain to drain them - buckets and buckets. I went to the local building supply a couple years ago and found a fitting that threads into the factory drain plug hole and the other end will take a garden hose. Now I just run the hose out the door, connect it, and open the drain-cock ! Easy ! RonMC

Thanks that's what I was wondering but couldn't remember.
That's why I posted my reply as a question.
Thought he would see it if that's where it was.

Take a look at the drain plug "alternative" on "John B" our 43B.

Definitely not OEM, but it works good.

I rigged something similar, but does not stick down like that, I was afraid it would hook something and the brass snap off. I thnk I rigged up a steel street elbow with a horizontal drain valve. But yes, a drain valve makes it REALLY simple and easy.

The ones I found had a very short lever for a ball valve and were either chromed or more likely stainless. Had to use a reducer from the stock hole, but it is tucked right up out of the way. I think it's maybe for a toilet water shut off or under-sink. Having a drain tap underneath certainly simplifies it no matter what you use. RonMC
