Drilling Safety Valve Orifice

So I got around to removing the orifice screw with the screen. It says 24 on it, the hole is about the size of a pin. From what I understand it should be a .03" hole. I have a 1/32" bit which would be about .03". This would end up being about twice the size as the pin hole it has now. Am I missing something or should I go for it?

Original orifice is .024. Later orifice like used in 560 and replacement for all models is .031. It is trial and error when drilling but most likely .031 will work for you. Too big and you will have zero hydraulics.

If you are successful in drilling, cut the end off screen so you can clean all crud out and then just roll it up a turn to seal end.

The never used a check ball in the .024 orifice. That started with the 4 & 560 and you don't want it in any of them.

Well i got it back together and nothing changed it still seems like it is cycling the hydraulics. I could see bubbles coming out the side of the block by the 3 pt lever. Like it was releasing pressure through the side plate

It should never release "pressure" to the outside. That, as a separate issue to be fixed. If you run it with all levers in center Do nothing position it "cycles". if you raise the 3 pt, does it "cycle" as it is lifting? If not, that dang pilot orifice may still be an issue. What oil is in the hydraulics? It really needs to be Hytran. jim
