Drive Coupler

I hope this hasn't been done to death, but I would like to ask what the procedure is to remove the drive coupler chain from an Oliver 1650G. I've got to replace the clutch in the ole girl, and I know the engine, clutch and the Over-Under have to come out as a unit. Any sage advice on the drive coupler removal would be wonderful...Thank You.

I'm doing the clutch on our 1550 right now. Just pull the cotter pin out and it disassembles like a regular master link.

there will be a cotter pin that goes thru 2 pins at the same time pull that and the link connector just like a regular roller chain also like Cleon said dont forget to pull the pto the is a snap ring up in the oval hole that can be a pain to get in and out then pull the shaft out the back.

Hey guys...Thanks alot. I was aware of the PTO needing to be pulled back. Thanks for the tips. I was hoping it was going to be that simple regarding the coupler. This is my first Ollie, just thought I'd consult the experience of this board. I also understand that I will probably have to remove a couple of head bolts to attach a chain to lift the engine...can anyone tell me the head bolt torque for when I put the head bolts back in? Thanks again...Randy

There should be two head bolts that have threads above the head of the bolt. Use these to attach your chain to pull the unit. If they are in the right place, near the center of the engine, you want to use the rear bolt. It will balance perfect for lifting. WB<><.

Thanks again folks...looks like an engineer had his thinking cap on that day! I appreciate the info...the rest looks pretty straight forward.
