Drive through PTO pump problem

I have two problems with the aftermarket PTO hydraulic pump on my JD 70. First, the pump is losing alot of power - it has a hard time even getting the loader up above the level of the tractor. Can I do someting to fix this?
Secondly, I want to run a bush hog off the PTO. How can I do this with the hydraulic pump on it? The pump slips over the PTO shaft, completely covering it. On the outside end of the pump is a splined opening that looks like you could back another tractor up to it and stick the other tractor's PTO right in the opening. How can I fix this so I can hook up the female connector on the bush hog PTO driveline? I also have another pump that is only splined where it grabs the PTO - the other end of this pump is a smooth opening with what seems to be bolt holes inside the opening. I could put this pump on the tractor if it would be easier to run the mower off of. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you are going to run a bushhog don"t run it threw the pump. It will split in the spline and ruin the seal and the hollow spline shaft.Found that out on a feed grinder. They work well for low HP work such as an auger or sickle mower. Also they can be very dangerous Had a neighbor get killed with one as the tractor pto shield don"t cover the front nuckle or release pin caught his pants and broke his neck .

Thanks for your help - can I truly run a loader off the powertrol hydraulic outlets without damaging the powertrol pump? Would I hook it up at the hydraulic outlets right behind the seat?
