Dry cell batteries

What brand of dry cell/flashlight batteries do you use? In the last year I have had a number of "copper top" batteries
leak. Managed to save the devices; but not lasting like they used to.

Cheapest of like type. Difference is only marketing anyway and keeps them competitively priced.

Usually house brand at TSC, or Sams club. They seem to last as well as name brands. That said I have had several premature failures on name brands recently. Am making it a point to remove batteries from anything not in regular use. Amazing how many batteries we go through in a year.

IDK about You Guys... But I have trouble with Duracell and Name brand batteries Leaking/ Going bad like batteries did 40rs ago... I thought We were Going forward,, Not Backwards in Technology.. Larry in Ga

I have had more Duracell batteries fail (leak) in the last two years than I have from any battery in the last 20 years. I lost two expensive flashlights, had a couple remotes get ruined, and some other equipment. It was mostly AA batteries but those are what I use most. All of the batteries that failed were multiple years away from the end of their shelf life.

I went thru and removed all Duracell batteries from every device I have and I threw away a new 24-pack of batteries. I will never insert another Duracell battery into another device - Ever.

So far I've been having good luck with Energizer and Amazon Basics brand.

I keep some name-brand batteries just in case, but only use rechargeable batteries.

My experience has been the same, we switched to energizers at work also.

This may draw some criticism, but that's OK with me, but I have had as good luck with the free ones from Harbor Freight as any I have bought. Every time I get a coupon, I get some more and throw them in the freezer until I need them. And I haven't bought any batteries in several years now. Someone will say that they don't last as long as brand names, but who in sam hill cares, they are free.

Ray O Vac, best bang for the buck. compared to Energizer.

Ray-o-vac batteries are cheap, sure... but in the last year or two, I have had more of them leak and nearly ruin several pieces of electronic gear than any other brand! This is while just sitting on the shelf, with no current drain. In fact one actually leaked in the package, and it was within expiration date too.

Now I just use lithium AA cells in adapter housings. The lithium Energizers have expiration dates 20 or 25 years in the future and I probably won't be here when they finally need replacing!

You guys should check to see if the manufacturer has a warranty regarding that. One of the big names, Energizer or Duracell, does. Myself, no matter what brand I get they don't seem to last very well. The worst are dollar store "Sunbeam" brand. Very, very short life.

uracell has gone in the toilet........ruined too many devices for me!

I have had good luck with Duracell. I think the trick is to use whatever has batteries in frequently and not let the appliance lay idle for weeks/months on end. works for me anyway.

Really really, the HF Alkaline batteries have done me very well. Use them all over the place. Now and then they have coupons in their flyers so I will pick up a couple of boxes.

If you don't like Duracell batteries don't buy Kirkland brand from Costco, they are made by duracell.

That is all I have been using lately. But they do have 2 grades and I by the better one.
