Not a technical issue but wanted to share what I can only describe as a fluke. About 20 minutes into mowing with my TO-30 I ran over a white tail 4 point antler that had fallen upright. It fit perfectly over my right rear wheel and the 2.5 inch "spikehorn" went right between the lugs and into the tire and tube. Ruined my day! It got me wondering what other folks might have run over that just managed to line right up and cause this type of grief. To make matters worse I broke down and replaced both rear tires and tubes last year after years of running on cracked tires without a single problem.

Antlers in tires are an ongoing problem around here. That's just another reason to take some radical action to reduce the deer population to a manageable size.

I bought new front tires on my 50, got tired of the car tires going flat with nails, a week later a thorn had deflated the new one. Also had a reaccuring car tire going flat, thought somebody was out to get me, after inspecting the driveway i found a flailmower blade with the point up.

I had a brand new 11x28 installed for a week and hooked my box blade with the rippers in it for the first time and found out the hard way if you lift it too high it catches the tire lugs and gets sucked into the tire. Large punctures can be repaired but definitely weakens the tire. Man was I sick...
