Duraspark in a 2n?

I just wondered if it was possible to install the guts of a 4 cylinder duraspark ignition onto the breaker plate of a 2n front mount distributor along with appropriate module to have an actual Ford electronic ignition?
Basically using junkyard parts instead of purchasing an aftermarket electronic ignition unit?

f I recall correctly. Ford has called several different designs 'Duraspark', so to even begin to answer such a question, it would have to be narrowed down to specific units. I expect that some machine work on distributor shaft will be necessary, even if space allows the remainder.

have an article on using the Duraspark but it look's like I need to use a computer to share it. I've done it with an FE points distributor and and also used a GM HEI module. I like your idea better of staying Ford.

hatever you do , avoid Ford Motocraft TFI module (1983-1995) as millions were replaced due to failure in a class action settlement. Ford payed for labor, towing, parts, etc.

What about a 4 cylinder magnetic pick up fanned on the breaker
plate and a home made reluctor wheel pinned on the stock distributor
shaft? I will admit I do not 100 percent understand how they work but
wondered if it were possible

nything is possible with enough time, money, skills, etc. Enough money will buy the rest.
