Dye for oil

Someone posted about a dye you can get to check for oil leaks. I can not find that post and tried a search. Can anyone tell where to get it or what it is called.I will also do a google search

If you had look for my handle you would have found it. LOL. O'Reilly's has it. Called Dye-Lite by Tracerline part #TP-3090

GM dealers have a part number for it too. We sold one for engine oil and another for trans. oil.
IIRC ? they may of been colored differently.

Don't they have one for air conditioner? Might be a UV dye.

It is a UV dye just like what's used in AC systems.

You can't see the leaked oil without dying it? Must be some sort of an invisible oil leak?


If you have ever handled any AC parts that have had that &^$# dye added you'll think twice before using t again, it stains EVERYTHING yellow, including clothing and skin.

O'Reilly's has it. To see the leak you need a good quality black light.
