Early 9n

Picked up an early 9n a bit ago. Anyone have any early parts? A generator, loop wheels, 2 piece governor early manifold.

Good luck. Most of the early 9N parts have been scarfed up already or are buried in a barn somewhere. You will be lucky to find any of them. Rosewood Machine makes a nice horizontal bar aluminum grille, and Dennis Carpenter makes a nice 4-Spoke Steering Wheel. It helps if you know what year exactly you have as the GEN was changed in late '39 from a 2-Wire/2-Brush, 7-A, 'B' Circuit Unit that also used a VOLTAGE REGULATOR to the 1-Wire/3-Brush Unit and a roundcan cutout circuit. Some things like smooth doglegs, double ribbed fenders, and smooth rear axle hubs can be found but snap-in battery cover; brass sediment bulb; 20 AMP Gauge; 32 rear Hat Rims; and others as mentioned are going to be a long, eventful journey. You can ask folks like Harold Cooke and Steve Dabrowski and Jason Grooms about restoring to all original. You will never get your return on investment. In the past 20 years, all but 2 early 9N's I've seen at auctions were all original. Most went for big bucks yet had no early 9N parts. Heck two even had 12V switch out jobs. If you still want an early 9N after all I just said, well, you will probably have to settle for a 9N-10000-C or 2N-10000 GENERATOR with a cutout for one. If son, be sure to get the belt tensioner. The OEM early 9N radiator was the large, non-pressurized unit. The rad cap was the STANT Chromed unit and you can still get the repair kit for it, p/n B-8100-RK, from Carpenter. Lighting Kits were always dealer options on Ford Tractors up until the 800. The early 9N kits used the big CM HALL headlights. Light kits also included the TAURUS TAILLIGHT too. I have an OEM, nicely restored TAURUS taillight and a complete 7-pc Ford Tractor Toolkit for a 9N if interested. Email is open.
