Early IHC tractor corn planter

Either I got the model # wrong according to Binder Books or something. Im still needing the right Model # for an early IHC tractor planter. It looks just like a horse planter. I know cause I have an IHC horse planter setting next to it, and they are nearly identical in design. The tractor planter has no seat, lifting/lowering lever, and its wheels are made heavier. It does have a trip mechanism, and a crank that raises/lowers it, the handle of which runs along the tongue. If anyone knows the right model #s, please let me, and at least one opther person in here know them. If anyone knows where I can get a operators manual, or a copy of it, Please let me know. Thanks,

Hi, I have a used manual, operation and parts on a
102, 104, 106 planter dated 9-29-44. Starts out
describing how to set up hitch for horses. Looks
as if tractor hitch avail. If you have any casting p/n's on major parts I will try to compare. Chuck

Darn it! I can't find my manual. I don't think the 240 series had provisions for a horse hitch. The 249/449 were the next planters in line after the 240/440. They have pneumatic tires on a 240/440 frame. I hope that helps some. - Mike

I searched E bay last night. They had 11 manuals. None of them listed themselves as being in the 102/202 104/204, ect ect. Most didnt have pics and they didnt enlarge for me.

It could be a 240: I had a 440 back in the day and it looked much like two Horse drawn 2 row planters hooked together.Got it at a farm sale and planted corn with it for a few years until I could afford a 450 IHC Planter. The 440 was a good check wire or power hill drop planter whereas the 450 shown when set for drilling.
