Hello,
I have installed this bump style weed wacker system. I have since put in string 3 times.It works good. No tools required to install, and it comes with adapters. It supposed to fit 99% of the ga strimmers.
I had the single string head and this one replaced it. Its a Shakespeare, the same company that makes fishing gear.

Well, THEY, of all people should know how to make something that would work without the line becoming tangled! Thanks for the post, I will keep that in mind. BTW, where did you purchase it, Big box store, supply house? So's we will know where to look for it.

Shade tree. Lows handles em. Only 2 out of5 didn"t like it. Doesn"t fit all trimmers.Read comments when you look under reviews/ PHIL.

philWi, thanks for the tip. Looks more than a few don't like it. Of course you have to consider the fact that a lot of people aren't sure just what they are doing anyway. I have always liked bump and go line heads, but I have an old Homelite that still runs pretty well but you have to cut and thread the line every time, you know, one of those with no reservoir. that's why it has been on the shelf for the last two years.

Is this the trimmer head that you line up the arrows and push the string straight through the head and pull out 4' or so on the other side the cut off the same length on the other side. Then turn the knob to wind the string inside the trimmer until you have 3 or 4 inches sticking out? Those are the best I've seen, anyone can put string in them and it's so simple. Then you just bump it on the ground to let out more string when needed. A friend bought one at the farm store but it was over $20.00. Is this what you have?

Hello Dick,
Yes, that is the one. You get a line and push it through. Then wind it up and you're done.
It works for me!

We take care of 5-10 lawns beside ours and weve been through a few heads over the years but not that one. 4-5 years ago we purchased an FS110 Stihl and a year later purchased a second one. Neither head has failed to work perfectly. Not quite as simple to load as that one but simple enough that anyone who cant do it realy shouldnt be allowed outside alone. We take a half minute to knock the dirt and debri out of them when we reload but other than that they have been free of trouble and repair for a mile or so of line. When the powerheads go bad those line heads are staying and if not available new we will move the old line heads to the new trimmers, they are that good.
