I keep hearing the impact and damage that this here forecast could bring, not only on the west coast but inland also, just how bad will this effect any of your farming and structures have, hopefully none???

Zero hurricanes in the Atlantic basin so far this year
It usually means a wet winter for us but we are use to abnormally wet years for some winters.
Happened before will happen again and life goes on.

Not sure if we can attribute it to El-nino, but here in eastern Nebraska, we are getting good rains after 3 years of very dry weather.

Well hopefully there predictions are close because they claim with the snow in the Sierra's and Rocky Mnts. along with the rains should fill up the big dams and hopefully the Colorado river, it has been a little dry out west?

We are due for a snowy winter. We have had too many easy winters in a row.

The first El Nino predictions I saw came out of some European climate center a few months ago it seems.

I also read that this is the first year since 1914 there have been no recorded hurricanes. I don't know if that is the truth but somehow I guess climate change is or isn't happening, based on they way those reports have been rolled out.

I'll welcome El Nino as usually we get a lot of rain here in CA.

Here in N. Tx. i'm not preparing the field that I usually prepare for a spring hay harvest....last 4 years have been wet up into June and that's too late for the quality of crop I usually bale.....besides that's when the summer crop is getting going.

Additionally, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE) Index, which measures the combined strength and duration of tropical storms and hurricanes, shows a noticeable increase over the past 30 years, with eight of the ten most active years since 1950 occurring post-mid-1990s. It appears safe to assume that the chances of a storm or two being very strong is likely. So it follows that there will be structures that have withstood past storms that could see significant damage from storms this year.

I am not sure wich one they were talking about but they had said 20" + inches of rain..
