El Toro can you PM me I want to know more about your Toro Whirlwind. Do you have more pictures and where could I find a service and parts manual I looked on the TORO site but found nothing.

Hal you know your suppose to use the ROPE...your way is the easy way....

It rope starts pretty easy after it has been running. It has a lot of compression since I rebuilt the engine. I don't use it much anymore.
It mows good on rough areas or on your lawn. It's a mulcher mower and the grass needs to be dry when mowing. I mow the garden off in the Fall
and it chews up everything. I use to raise pole lima beans and had a hard time getting rid of the vines until I bought this mower in 1976. One pass over them with this mower and you wouldn't have known they were vines. Hal
PS: I have blossoms on some of my tomatoes.
